Work with Alexis
Alexis has extensive experience with working with groups and individuals having founded multiple communities including Black Enough and We Are Black Fish. She been training and working in the counselling space for the last 5+ years. Current placement is at London Friend an LGBTQIA+ charity in London. She is an advanced psychotherapist trainee and is currently in her 4 year of psychotherapy training at the notable TA East which does Transactional Analysis & Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy Courses through an Intersectional Lens.
Alexis has been working in social media for 14 years and before that she was a midwife. She has written a book published with Penguin called Feeling Myself - a liberating manifesto for women under the name Natalie Lee. Alexis is a mother, neurodivergent, practising buddhist, queer and of mixed heritage.
Alexis’ work challenges traditional therapy by making sure systemic and cultural issues are accounted for in the room and not perpetuating the hyper-individualistic and heteronormative rhetoric inherent in many therapy spaces.

what to expect
the connect call will be via Zoom and it’s a chance for us to hear and see each other if that is available to you. To ask one another questions and to see if we might work well together. We’ll both get a vibe from that first video call.
we then both have a opportunity to think about it and to continue the process or not. There is no pressure to book further sessions.
sessions are usually 50 mins long but if this does’t work for you we can chat about the length of sessions.

all of our sessions are confidential accept if there is a risk of imminent harm but I would expect to discuss this with you if I felt it was necessary to speak to any other person/ organisation.
